The story of our 3-star hotel
The villa’s true history remains uncertain. According to some accounts, it was a hunting lodge used by the Marquis de Verteillac for leisure. Others believe it was a preliminary version of the château he intended to build, a project that never came to fruition. Guy Binot presents another theory in La Saga des Bains de Mer (Bonne Anse): the château was indeed built, but “the building, too close to the sea, was destroyed by the waves, and its outbuildings became Résidence de Rohan”.
